In 1949 country singer Eddy Arnolds' Texarkana Baby was pressed on green vinyl and released by RCA.
We're not much for nostalgia here at Rucksack, but we love the 7 inch and the fact that it is still being manufactured. Since the format turns 60 this year, we would like to recommend two 7 inch records that we think are worth getting hold of: Minimalizm V4 is a locked groove compilation also featuring Jivaro's I Feel Bass (7 Inch Mix). The latter is an exclusive Rucksack Records promotion spot. V4 was released by Chicago label Minimalizm. We would also like to recommend a release by the Icelandic label Hverfisgotu Disco. The record is featuring Dagur Nilsson's Forever, an acid sounding re-edit of Donna Summer's disco hit Our Love. Both records are in stock at Juno Records.
Join our mailing list now and get a very special offer in celebration of the vinyl 7 inch! The offer is only valid for 10 days, so hurry up. All you have to do is send us an e-mail saying subscribe in the subject line, and we will get back to you right away.

<font size="2"Rucksack Presents Unique Mix Project
August 8, 2008
We're proud to present I Feel Bass, a one of a kind mix project representing a new take on remixing. Just like the previous records in the series, Minimalizm V4 is pressed on strictly limited edition seven inch vinyl. Label manager Jordan Fields has compiled twenty loops, which should be useful for any DJ that is interested in using short audio segments in their mixes without giving up the hands-on feel of vinyl.
Ending the record is a full song by Jivaro. His appearance on Minimalizm V4 is an exclusive Rucksack Records promotion spot. The track is called I Feel Bass (7 Inch Mix). Hunt has been in the music business since the 1980s and has worked with DJ Pierre, Frankie Knuckles and Robert Owens.
The title track is an eleven minutes long, meticulously programmed, deep house production with a touch of Detroit techno.
Following Chilites is Throwback 87. As the title implies, it was recorded in 1987 and features no other than the late DJ legend Ron Hardy. The track, which has never been released before, is an acid flavoured creation from a time when house music was taking its first steps out of the Chicago area and into the burgeoning European rave scenes. There are only a handful of recordings where Ron Hardy took part in the production, making the track an interesting artefact in the history of house music.
Chilites and Throwback 87 are available at major downloading services such as iTunes, Rhapsody and eMusic.

House Heads Launch New Club
April 9, 2007
Rucksack's Jivaro has teamed up with Patric Philipsson aka Edmundy for the opening of Chilites, a new club in Malmo, Sweden, focusing exclusively on underground house and Chicago acid.
The première of the club, which is named after a soon-to-be released track on Rucksack by Chicago's Gene Hunt, will take place on May 5, 2007 at Tangopalatset.

Chilites
May 5, 2007
Tangopalatset
Amiralsgatan 47 (Karlskronaplan)
DJs: Jivaro (Rucksack, Minimalizm), Edmundy (Suitable)
10PM - 2AM
40 SEK

<A NAME=Jivaro's Twisted Grooves Get Locked>Jivaro's Twisted Grooves Get Locked
January 6, 2007
Jivaro has contributed a loop of his track Turiya to Minimalizm V2, a strictly limited locked groove 7 inch.
